Jada Pickett-Smith Calls For Healing After Smith’s Oscar slap

Jada Pinkett-Smith Calls For 'Healing' After Will Smith's Oscars Slap Mar 29, 2022

Jada Pinkett-Smith called for "healing" in a new Instagram post on Tuesday (March 29) –– her first public worded statement since husband Will Smithwalked on stage and slapped Chris Rock at the 94th Annual Oscars Sunday night (March 27). "This is a season for healing and I'm here for it," a graphic posted to The Matrix actress' official Instagram account reads. Nothing was written in the caption of the post. On Monday (March 28), Jada posted a video of the emerald green Jean Paul Gautier couture dress she wore to the Academy Awards, but has not said anything in the wake of the shocking on-stage incident. Will's slap came as Chris Rock was presenting the Academy Award for Best Documentary –– snagged by The Roots founding member and his fellow Philly native Questlove. Chris made a reference to Jada's closely-shaven hair, prompting Will to stroll on stage and slap him before warning twice, "Keep my wife's name out of your f––king mouth." Jada has previously publicly revealed her journey with alopecia –– an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss. Will went on to win his very first Oscar for Best Lead Actor, becoming the fifth Black man to ever do so in the history of the awards. On Monday (March 28), The Academy announced it was launching a "formal review" of the slapping incident, though Chris Rock has not filed a police report, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Will Smith was so so wrong on so many level. He couldn’t handle that better then he did. He could have pulled Rock to the side afterward. The man laughed at the joke and then noticed the look his wife had. That was a little kid move. Shame on you Will Smith.
